Assign Responsible Party for Compliance Obligations

Modified on Wed, 26 Feb at 1:54 AM

Responsibility for a document or a Compliance Obligations Register determines who will be assigned External Actions when documents or clauses change. Responsible party status can be assigned to:

  • Any account administrator
  • General and restricted users that appear in the ‘Share with’ field on the CO edit page
  • User teams that appear in the ‘Share with’ field on the CO edit page

You can assign responsibility for Compliance Obligations Registers at three levels:

1. At the Compliance Obligations Register level

A user or team can be assigned as responsible for an entire compliance obligation. To do this, go to the edit page, and select the appropriate name from the responsible party drop-down menu.

When a responsible party is assigned at this level, they will be automatically assigned as the responsible party for all documents and clauses that have not been explicitly assigned to someone else. As a result, all new document and clause actions will be assigned to this person.

2. At the Document Level

Responsibility can also be assigned on a document-by-document basis using the responsible party drop-down. To assign a responsible party to a document in your compliance obligation list, go to that document and select the appropriate person or team from the drop-down menu.

When a responsible person or team is assigned to a document, they will receive all external actions for that document.

3. At the Clause Level

Similar to the document level, responsibility can be assigned on a clause by clause basis. To assign a responsible party to a clause, go to that clause and select the appropriate person or team from the drop-down menu.

When a responsible person or team is assigned to a clause, they will receive all external actions for that clause.
